Social Procurement (Melb)

Social procurement is high on the agenda of most organisations at present. While headway is being made by many, others are still struggling with the practicalities of how to engage social enterprises. In this session you will have the opportunity to explore such things as how you develop RFPs or go to market with social enterprises, what special criteria, if any, you need to include and what your evaluation criteria might look like.

This event will be facilitated by Mark Daniels, Executive Director Buyer Services, Social Traders.

About Mark Daniels

Mark is an Executive Director at Social Traders. He has been heavily involved in the development of the Australian social enterprise sector and the emerging field of social procurement. Mark has been involved in social procurement as a buyer, as a seller (via social enterprise), and over the last 8 years as an advocate and enabler for corporate and government social procurement. He also sits on the Australian Committee that developed the new ISO 201400 Sustainable Procurement guidance. Over the last 3 years Social Traders has developed a market place that enables buyers to engage social enterprises in their supply chains in order to deliver social impact. Social Traders marketplace includes over 24 buyers and over 200 suppliers and in FY17 the activities of the marketplace created over 300 jobs for disadvantaged Australians.
