PASA Connect is delighted to announce the launch of its mentoring programme. Mentoring programmes can deliver great benefits to both those being mentored (Mentees) and to those doing the mentoring (Mentors).

The role of a mentor is to encourage the personal and professional development of a mentee through the sharing of knowledge, expertise and experience. A mentoring relationship should be built on mutual trust, respect and communication, and involves both parties meeting regularly to exchange ideas, discuss progress and set goals for further development.

Having the guidance, encouragement and support of a trusted and experienced mentor can provide a mentee with a broad range of personal and professional benefits, which ultimately lead to improved performance in the workplace.

However, mentoring should be about more than the transfer of advice, knowledge and insights. The relationship should offer reciprocal benefits for mentors willing to invest their time in developing another professional. As well as the personal satisfaction of sharing their skills and experience with a willing learner, being involved in mentoring also provides some tangible benefits that can reward mentors professionally.

Benefits for your Organisation

While the PASA Connect mentoring programme will connect mentors and mentees from different organisations, there are benefits that flow to each organisation such as keeping your senior/experienced performers engaged by recognizing their capabilities and knowledge and providing your emerging talent with the opportunity to explore outside your organisation and to bring their learnings back to their current role.
